Physiotherapy Services
At HB Rehab, our physiotherapists help people move better, build strength and achieve greater independence. Based in Wallsend, we provide tailored, evidence-based physiotherapy shaped around each person’s goals, lifestyle and health needs, whether that means recovering from an injury, managing a physical condition or staying active and independent as they age.
Our physiotherapists work collaboratively with clients, their families and their support teams to advocate and create engaging, effective treatment plans. We set meaningful goals together, celebrate progress along the way and help people move confidently as they take on new challenges.
NDIS Physiotherapy
NDIS physiotherapy is physio funded through your NDIS plan, with a focus on helping you move better, do more for yourself and reach the goals in your plan. HB Rehab is a registered NDIS provider, so we can work with you whether your plan is self-managed, plan-managed or NDIA-managed. We see participants across Newcastle and the Hunter, at home, in the community or at our Wallsend clinic.

Physiotherapy Functional Assessments
A physiotherapy functional assessment shows how your disability or health condition affects the way you move through everyday life, and what support would make a real difference. Your physiotherapist looks at what you can do, where you need a hand, and how changes in strength, balance, mobility, pain or fatigue are affecting you at home and in the community. We work with your family, carers, support staff and other health professionals to build a complete picture, then provide clear, practical recommendations you can use as evidence for NDIS access, plan reviews or a change in circumstances.

Your assessment happens in the places that matter to you, whether that's home, work or out in the community. Your physiotherapist watches how you move in real life, including walking, using stairs, and getting in and out of bed, chairs and the car, and uses standardised assessment tools to measure your physical abilities and support needs. You then receive a thorough, easy-to-read report that sets out your strengths, the support you need, and practical steps for building your strength, mobility and independence.

The benefits reach well beyond the report. An assessment can uncover simple ways to make you safer and steadier on your feet, point you towards mobility aids or equipment that take the effort out of getting around, and highlight exercises and skills you can build into your daily routine. It also gives you the evidence to seek funding and support that improve your independence and quality of life.

Aged Care Physio
Aged care physiotherapy is physio designed around the needs and goals of older people. The focus is practical: better balance, fewer falls, stronger muscles and steadier walking, so you can keep doing the everyday things that matter to you.

Our AHPRA-registered physiotherapists come to you, at home or in your residential aged care facility, or you can see us at our Wallsend clinic. Seeing you where you live means no tiring travel, and it lets us work on the real stairs, chairs and pathways you use every day. That makes the biggest difference if getting around is hard or your care needs are complex. We work with clients funded through the Support at Home program (formerly Home Care Packages), as well as private clients.
